Hi All
Does anyone know how compatible AGEMA Miniatures are with some of the existing Metal Ranges out there, in particular the AVANTINE range of Republican Romans and their Latin Allies?
Cheers

can't help on your question but I have not heard of AGEMA so thanks for pointing them out.

Agema is at the smaller end of 28mm while I believe Avantine is at the larger end of 28mm. Agema would be more compatible with the Republican/Punic range from Gripping Beast.

IMHO, it would fit with Crusader line. Mike Adams

I just finished putting together a box of the Agema legionnaires – they're a little taller than Crusader Miniatures figs, but they are sculpted in a thinnner style (much closer to realistic proportions). I only have Aventine cavalry, unfortunately, so it is hard to do a direct comparison, but the Agema figs are also 'skinnier' than them.

That said, I really like the Agema figs and plan to buy some more.

Also, for my own forces I won't be mixing them in the same units with my Crusader and Aventive figs, but I plan on using them in the same army.

I only have the Agema velites, but I do have many Aventine troops. Ditto on them being skinnier, and the heads especially are smaller than Aventine's. Height-wise I think they're similar. On the table top I think they'll be okay together or aside another unit.

I also have Renegade velites, and they look like great Germanic giants by comparison. Definitely don't mix those two!

The Agema miniatures are shorter and look a tad anorexic compared to the Aventine miniatures. I was actually shocked at how tiny the Agema romans were.

I really like the Agema figs, but Aventine are brilliant.
Maybe I should wait to see what Victrix produces,..

I have done a comparison on some Rep. Romans including Aventine and Agema.

I love the Aventines (I'm painting some right now), but there is nothing wrong with nicely sculpted smaller minis, like the Agema. It's just a different style… different strokes and all that.
