5th Annual Hobby Bunker Game Day with Boston Trained Bands August 23,2014.
We had a great day in the morning Event Name: All Quiet on the Martian Front where the Martians had excellent targeting systems but that Victorian Armor was just too tough. Event Name: Fenway Park two great games even a novice Brit was able to get to grips with the rules and have fun. Event Name: The Battle of Belmont – Grant's First Civil War Battle beautiful looking game with some tense action and rebel cavalry raiding behind the front line. Event Name: Zulu fantastic rolling hills of Zululand where a British encampment was awoken by hordes of Zulus. Event Name: Hanghai Raiders you never know what is going to happen in this game but I saw monsters, boats, cars and talk of a magician! Event Name: D-Day World War II Americans stormed the beaches and eventually took the bunkers to secure the area.
Trying to pick a GM winner was nearly an impossible task with all excellent games but after long deliberation by the judging team Mike Paine won the Award for Hanghai Raiders! Dean posted some great photos on Main Wargamers HQ Facebook page

In the afternoon Event Name: Battle of Paris 1814 resulted in a determined defense of the chateau and some slow movement by the allies resulted in the French Army braking but the Allies not capturing the roads into Paris, the three Monarchs will have to wait another day to enter Paris. Event Name: WW 1 Eastern Front 2nd Masurian Lakes February, 1915 cold and snowy lots of action. Event Name: All Quiet on the Martian Front this time they had to breakout of the town.
For the evening the 1st Battle of Ypres was an Allied counterattack on a chateau and village the French did well getting into the chateau and the stables but the Germans grabbed the large house in the village and prepared to assault the chateau. The Allied cavalry gently trotted through the woods and seemed to think this was ride to view the changing leaves not get into action. A bitter fight ensued in the chateau between the Germans and the French and the English and Scottish Infantry tried to drive the Germans from the village and made very slow progress under heavy machine gun fire. The German cavalry dashed past the stables but failed to reach the English infantry only to be drive back by the Allied cavalry. The Germans were ejected from the chateau but machine gunned the French as the rushed out of the chateau. A final German cavalry charge failed to reach an artillery battery and took fire from two batteries and a machine gun wiping them out. With only one infantry company two machine guns and a few artillery batteries the Germans withdrew from the area.

Thanks to all who helped make it a great day.
