Since his WW2 figures are 20mm, his decals probably are ~1:72. But they should be good for 28mm size as well. Jim |

OK. Any chance you'll do a set of German tactical numbers that are in numerical sequence, preferably Early War solid white so I can finally finish my assorted 1/72 scale panzers appropriately and make 'em all easily identified one from the other on the wargame table? Pleeeeease!!! Pretty please with jam on top!!!

Thank you for your comments! We're pleased everyone likes them! Yes, they're 1/72nd and we'll give the German numbers some serious thought as well

Sarge, I ask, no BEG you to do so, as there are a number of Early War fast build German panzer kits out now that don't come with decals, including the Panzer 38(t) produced by Pegasus, the Panzer II produced by S-Model, and the various Panzers from Armourfast, to say nothing of the many metal and/or resin kits produced by other manufacturers. I can find plenty of appropriate balkankuz, plenty of divisional markings, but for the life of me no solid white tactical numbers on the same sheet that are sequential and in enough numbers to allow one to number a panzer company suitable for those of us that play in 1/72 scale. Right now I have a small mob of early war Panzers sans tactical numbers. I would dearly love to rectify that omission and expand the horde to a whole new level, but the lack of tactical numbers has me stymied. Further, as I am an equally inveterate science fiction wargamer and model builder, I can assure you that such a sheet of solid white tactical numbers would be doing multiple duties, from starship hull numbers to tactical markings on a company of anti-gravity tanks, from facilities building numbers on an industrial mining colony on Arcturus VII, to the tactical numbers on a troop of combat robots. Once upon a time there was a sheet of WW2 German tactical number waterslide decals produced by Squadron here in the US, but alas, that was more than a few years ago, and what is out there is overwhelmingly mid or late war or DAK, but no love for us Fall Weiss/Fall Gelb/Fall Rot crowd! We have succumbed (if that's spelt correctly!) and asked the desginer to see if he can do that for us
Keep watching this space as they say! Good idea about the science fiction use for them. We never thought of that and it makes sense. Hope you like them when they come! |

Sarge, I will keep my long range scanners tuned in your direction! You may rest assured that I am going to be all over such a sheet especially if it is arranged to follow German tactical doctrine, i.e.. as explained and demonstrated on the bottom of this site page: link Examples:
Yes, rest assured that I will use them for sci-fi as well, as I've been using waterside decals for historical subjects in a very shameless manner for over 30 years now: blackwidowpilot.blogspot.com
Further, would you consider making a sheet of British tank names both historical and whimsical? Those too I would use and in my case for sci fi projects more than historical (although I will build a BEF force in 1/72 scale before I shed my mortal coils, upon that you may rest assured)

I like it – I've copied this link to the designer! We'd give the British a thought
If there's anything very specialist you need I could put you in touch with the decal designer but I'm assured he's working on them and knowing him they'll be spot on! |

Sarge, well, I was hoping that in addition to historically accurate British tank names including Fray Bentos, Musical Box, and Cuckoo, that some apocryphal names (I have a list!!!) would also make it into production, as alas, my hand is not as steady as it used to be, and my aging eyes less sharp, so if it's fancy lettering or detailing I want, I have to rely upon decals such as you make! If you want my list of suggested names, I can e-mail it to you with my complements! Leland R. Erickson Metal Express metal-express.net

Sarge, I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest just a few tank names, some historical, some apocryphal in the hopes that you'll issue a set and spare me the indignity of fielding a company or three of unnamed BEF tanks and sci fi AFVs in equal measure! So, here's my wish list of names for such a sheet of waterslide decals: A Troop Archaeopteryx Archer Antioxident Apocryphal B Troop
Battleaxe Bumbershoot Bombay Bishop C Troop Cacophony

Zebra Zabernist Zakuska Zebu Pick and choose, discard the lot, but I hope this inspires you to produce a sheet of tank names in white color font suitable for British AFVs, as you maye rest assured that I for one will indeed use such sheets for both sci fi and WW2 historical subjects in equal measure!
