Recently, people have asked about making bedrolls and tarpaulins, stowage and turret bustles. This all came together when Brigade produced some stowage pieces and Ainsty have produced prototypes of their stowage baskets in etched brass. So a tutorial seemed to be in order. link
I've done a page on the Slammers site in the How To section with as much info as I can about all three items: Ainsty's baskets and how to use them on Blowers and other tanks; Brigades stowage and using putty and piffle from the spares box to make your vehicles look lived in.
There's also some shots of another diecast I drilled the tracks out on and added some more stowage to it.
I hope it's all useful. The Brigade stowage is up on their site but the Ainsty baskets were prototypes so they're not quite on the web site yet. John Treadaway hammers-slammers.com |

Nicely done. What is/where did you get the blue tracked vehicle? Tony |

@dampfpanzerwagon The blue tracked vehicle is a matchbox toy. I think it's called "Blizzard Buster", don't quote me though |

Tony I think that one's called a Frost Fighter and I found it my local pound shop. Just the one of them (sad face) but worth the purchase I thought. I took the tiny hidden wheels off with a Dremel and then drilled through the solid areas to open the track units up. I didn't even do a thorough job cleaning the swarf off as I was planning to paint mud between the tracks and that just looks like mud and grass. Some of the stowage on the roof is moulded on – all I added were two tarps and some Brigade cans: all the rest was moulded on in clear plastic (along with a panel on the bonet) both of which I masked and sprayed with Army Painter Navy Blue before I painted in the details. Yep, it's the "Frost Fighter". I had one of those when they first came out. Here in the States, they're in their 3rd or 4th run, and most Walmarts currently stock them. |

Burger King had plastic versions that are a bit larger than matchbox ones, but they did not have as much detail. Thanks for the post, very useful. |
