A 4 point star fort would be a start.

:) One of my friends built it, four years ago (although at a slightly smaller scale to fit on game tables) link It appeared since in many of our pirate games (with different terrains not always on the correct side when we wanted to change scenarios and to pretend it was somewhere else).
