I am looking for figure suggestions for US Marines at Harpers Ferry in 1859. This figure looks a lot like Mexican-American War infantry, but the headgear seems a bit different. Thoughts? link Also, I thought someone had made John Brown's "fort" in 15mm. Does this exist? |

Looks exactly like Mexican-American War kit to me. Although I picture Marines of that era in frock coats. |

Most of them wore overcoats at the assault on "John Brown's Fort." link |

I do not believe anyone is making Mex-Am US in overcoats, although that would be the correct way to go. Thanks, gents. I think I can use my Eureka figs for this, as long as I can find armed civilians in the same scale. Now to find that fort
I know someone made it! |

Have you checked the Minifigs listings? They are very nice figures for the period in 15mm under the Mexican-American War. |

I believe that JR Miniatures made the fort. |

I do have a decent amount of Eureka figures already for the Mex-Am War, so I might as well use those. However, finding 1850s civilians in that scale seems to be a challenge. I took a look at the JR site, because I do believe they did make the engine house as you state, but nothing listed there that I can find. |

Would the Blue Moon Alamo figures work as civilians? |
FireZouave | 23 Jun 2014 4:45 a.m. PST |
Blue Moon is just now coming out with Mexican-American War figures. link |

Oh, Blue Moon for both sides just might work perfectly! Thanks!!! |

For civilians you might try Old Glory's Texas War of Independence line. |

This is a piece from my collection that is the famous building at Harpers Ferry. The bottom is hard to read but says it's from 1992. I know that mark on the bottom but am drawing a blank on where it is from right now.

Thanks, jpipes
I do not believe then it is a JR, but who knows! If you every want to part with your engine house
:) Stone Mountain makes this: TRF332 Harpers Ferry stone factory $12.95 USD But that can't be it as it was not a factory. I looked at Musket Miniatures, nothing there, as well as TSS, nada. I can picture the line of buildings, a white hard resin IIRC. Driving me crazy that I cannot find it! |
