Some WIP for Transylvanians from 'By Fire and Sword' range. They will be part of our new Kickstarter starting (hopefully) next month.

I. Transylvanian haiduks (foot and mounted)

II. Transylvanian standard bearer from command group

Best regards

Quite nice. Given the traditional clothing, useful from the 16th – 18th centuries? I can't see the musket lock.

Could have some truly vicious and colorful skirmishes with these.

Haiduks are based on early XVII century engravings, the standard bearer is based on XVIII century copy of a mid XVII century drawing.

So haiduks would work for late XVIc and early XVIIc. As for the standard bearer I'd rather use him in mid-late XVIIc conflicts like transylvaninan attack on Poland during the Deluge, Imre Thokoly's uprising and Wien campaign.

This image appears to be of a Polish officer:

Drerssed in Hungarian style, which was very popular starting with Stefan Batory's reign as Polish king :)

To use a Pole as a source for Hungarian costume you would first have to show it is Hungarian style from other sources, so why not just use those other sources (if they exist)?frown

We had enough written description in Polish primary sources to identify Hungarin influence in this and many other pictures.
