"Well here's some Bleeped texting amazing news. According to Deadline, Rian Johnson will write and direct Star Wars: Episode VIII, and The Wrap reports that he write a treatment for Star Wars: Episode IX. As a fan of all three of Johnson's films—Brick, The Brothers Bloom, and Looper—I could not be more excited. This is the big break his fans have been hoping for, and it doesn't get bigger than Star Wars. The fact that he gets Episode VIII and gets to have input on Episode IX is not only gravy, but it's also a smart move on the part of Disney and Lucasfilm…"

Brick was interesting, though modern high school kids speaking like 1940s gangsters really hurt my head, it was strange how hard it was to understand dialogue that I'd have no trouble understanding if it was Bogart and Bacall speaking it.

I've seen one of his previous films – and the continuity issues that looper had (it was an ok film otherwise – but Old bruce/youngster changes dominant hand several times. :D

Otherwise I have no idea who this new guy is.
Disney didn't drop a bundle on SW for one guy to stuff it up – JJ has some of the better SW "advisors" on hand as needed.
