I have been reading science fiction since I was about 12, and I am 61 now. This is one of the best space combat science fiction books I have read. Its by Britt Ringel. Available in paperback and for the Kindle. (May be on the Nook, I shop on Amazon) The first 15 pages are average, but then this small frigate goes on its mission to investigate and eradicate piracy in a system where there is a large mining operation. Great descriptions of small actions involving just a few ships. Good characters, and a captain with a past. Its one of the best books I have read in years. Best of all, there are two sequels out already. No Way to Start a War, and The Wrong side of the Galaxy. The last two involve more fleet actions, but are still very good. |

Thanks! At $2.99 USD for the ebook it was hard to pass up. I've been looking for a good book like this. |

Sounds interesting--and yes, it is available for Nook (good news, since that's my portable reader). Rob |

I'm glad I still have my 1st Ed, NOOK
because I can take it with me and read it when I go to Deering Estate on the weekends. Much like the Kindle Paperwhite, it was built for use outdoors. I'll probably end up buying all three books and load them up for reading later this summer
re-reading "The Way of Kings-Sanderson-v1, Stormlight Series" right now in prep for v2. |

Just downloaded the trilogy (to date) at the library, didn't realize the books were so large (page count wise), not a bad bang for $10 USD Smackers! Thanks again! |

I'm well into the 1st book, odd page numbering, so it's actually something like 300 pages, but I'm very much enjoying it so far
nice little puzzle aspect to it and something of a "cop in the alley being ambushed by thugs" aspect to it also. Not a bad little find at all! |
