Dad is 5 weeks into his short-term rehab on his broken left femur and is doing exceptionally well. He should be on full weight bearing exercises soon and the incision where they inserted a rod healed so quickly and well that he's talked about in hushed tones at rehab and the hospital.

That being said, we still have a ways to go before he can come home. We keep telling him to look on this as 12 weeks of boot-camp; he replies with a string of expletives…. Which is another story unto itself as his rehab home is run by the archdiocese of New Orleans. He says he'd rather be in a ward full of Marines.

Dad really appreciates the cards everyone has sent so please keep them coming (mail them to 2527 S. Carrollton Ave., New Orleans LA 70118). And since the rehab isn't as secure as the hospital, we have his unpainted lead still at home in his game-room. Instead, we gave him a big bag of plastic "army men" for Father's Day which has totally confused the rehab staff; Dad loves them.

We'll have some more info on Colonial Barracks IV in the next few days so mark your calendars for Nov. 7-8-9 and enjoy some of the finest Colonial available! And thanks to everyone for all their cards, calls, emails, best wishes and wargamer prayers. They really make a difference.

Glad to hear the grand old man of wargaming and my fellow Marine is doing okay. Have a card coming his way. The boot camp comparison is apt! as was Larry's reply. Send him my best Lor and Christy! Hope you girls are holding up okay as well. Keep us posted.

thoughts and prayers,

Lori,

Thanks for the update. We missed seeing y'all at Bayou Wars but look forward to Colonial Barracks.

I vaguely remember my response to the Physical Torturist after my back surgery… I was too stoned on pain meds to remember what I'd said, but I remember my mom's eye's about bugged out of her head!

Of course, the PT said, you're going to have to get out of bed to do that to me…

Glad to hear he's healing well!

Great news. Take care Larry.

I gotta send a card, damnit! I'm gonna do that tomorrow. Tonight, I second Sly and add, keep rollin' 6's Larry!

Mend well Marine! While we have never met, Larry's rules have been a constant companion over these past few decades!

Lori,
Thanks for the SITREP. I'm very glad to hear that Larry is healing well and that the rehab seams to be progressing ahead of schedule.
Cheers,
Jeff

Thanks Lori for posting the info on your amazing dad's condition. He has brought so much fun and enjoyment into our lives. Hope he continues to fully recover, and also hope I get to see all of you again in New Orleans, if not this year then the next one.

Best,

Ethan

Larry, hope you are feeling better. We miss you here in Florida. We are doing our best to keep TSATF going here in the sunshine state.

Ma'am, I've never had the pleasure and honor of meeting your father, but I know of him and his contribution to our community (and am a shameless fan of TSATF!).

Please convey my sincere regards to you father from our team.

Respectfully,
