What standards did the Gendarmerie d'Ordonnance of the French army carry with them?
The head of a lance was a nobleman of higher birth. Did he carry his own standard in battle, or just a lance-pennon?

Lances were organised in companies of hundred or several hundreds. Did such a company carry a kind of national French standard and perhaps the commander of the company his own noble standard?

I often see in wargame pics lances in dual (twisted)colours. Was this really practice?

The picture of d'Aubigny's company at link shows the men-at-arms of his company carrying d'Aubigny's own standard, and the archers carrying what looks like a smaller version of the same standard.

At link is a picture of the Comte de Ligny's company with two apparently identical standards in their commander's livery.

Thanks for the examples.
It's hard to find anything about common practice, but these pics may give some idea about what standards may have looked like.
