It's a terrain expansion for Heroscape, but will non-Heroscape gamers be attracted by the trees?

I stand at the Rubicon, my toes in its waters and look across at the vast, mad maelstrom of chaos that is Napoleonic wargaming.

Worse, I am looking at BOTH land and naval.

Worse, I want to do Spaniards.

Standing, thinking about crossing over. Is it wargames Moscow I see in the distance?

How many set forth and achieve conquest?

How many ever return?

How many become gibbering wraiths, lost to their families, gibbering about the precise green of some green pom poms, or the exact number of 1806 gaiter buttons or the tin content in brass buttplates.

Those Spanish look sharp. Few things are as beautiful as a sailing ship.

At the edge of the Rubicon, I lift my foot and …

Feel the fear and do it anyway. Otherwise, every time you look in the mirror your reflection will look back and whisper "Coward…"

En avant à la bayonnette!

How many set forth and achieve conquest?
None!

How many ever return?
None!

Dive in laddie, dive in! Your brothers await ye!

If you win at sea, Huzzah! A win with the Dons is cause for celebration! If you lose, you can blame the poor quality of the crews (like many grandees might), or blame the obviously biased rules…

Ashore, the guerillas were fierce… I don't know anything about Spanish regular troops.

See you at the 250th anniversary of Waterloo when you get it all done!

I think the Spanish are a great army to collect. I hope you plan to go the 1808 route.

Great uniforms in the regulars and beautiful ships. I have Spanish ships from Trafalgar in 1/2400.

Go for it! I have Spanish Ships (1:1200), and just got the first of my future 28mm Spaniards form Dos de Mayo, but they wll probably be a year or so before they get painted – I have more to paint for Waterloo first!

Every. Single. One. Come join us – the madness is exquisite!

And Spanish – inspired! No one ever expects you to win, and if you do it means you're a genius! See, you're a natural!

Painted an entire British force including Black Watch and 95th Rifles for a friend in 15 mm for games of Shako. Bought 28 mm Foundry metals for Peninsula War but then sold them off as I felt it would be years before I could afford all that I needed and could find the time to paint, then bought 40 mm Highlanders on a lark, painted them and ended up selling them, now there are wonderful plastics a plenty in 28 mm and so many resources I could take the plunge, but again I have decided it is better not to go down that dark path. War of 1812 however has been whispering in my ear.

I think that you're having a bout of temporary insanity.

Don't, repeat DON'T step into that river.

Dive in and have some of the greatest wargaming experiences ever. Napoleonics is not a leading period for nothing.

"I hope you plan to go the 1808 route."

There. You see? I don't even know what that means, unless it has to do with the French betrayal.

I think I shall cross that river, and throw the ring into the volcano to see what happens.

Thanks for the advice everyone.

I must speak with Peter Berry now…

Dan Wideman II19 Jun 2014 10:19 a.m. PST

The ring never makes it to the volcano. Once you start you can't resist putting it on. You get peeks into the far distant past of muskets blazing and cannons raging. Once you've gone over to that side the ring takes you and makes you its own.

Doesn't it precious?

Intrepide19 Jun 2014 11:20 a.m. PST

Visions? Visions you say? Like, these…?
