I received my copy of 'The Waikato River Gunboats' the other day. This is the story of the small gunboat flotilla that supported the invasion of the Waikato in New Zealand, 1863. And I've got to say it is even better than I expected.

Here's my review: link

This book could be very inspirational for those making model gunboats, whether for the New Zealand Wars or elsewhere.

Mine arrived on Friday and I'm crashing through it now. An excellent book, loads of fascinating odd little facts in amongst the main "story", very well researched and presented in a very readable style. It has me thinking 15mm Maori wars just now…….
