Hi all. I decided to run "Death Soldiers of the Jade Hood" for .45 Adventure 2nd edition. It was a 1st edition supplement and there are quite a few rules differences. I posted the first AAR complete with rules changes over on my blog,Dead Dick's Tavern. Check it out. angrypiper.com/gaming/?p=606 Folks familiar with .45 Aventure may find the comparison between the two editions interesting (at least that's my hope). I'll be posting the campaign scenario AARs individually as they are played. Comments always welcome, there or here. |

Pretty cool. Love the streetlight effects:
And I guess that's a Coca-Cola bottling plant in the upper right-hand corner. |

Yes, lighting effect is inspired! How does it affect game play? |

Great looking table. Currently using "Death Soldiers of the Jade Hood" as the basis for a Pulp Alley game. |

Thanks, all. Boy wundyr X, Dyehard: I just traced a 3" template onto a piece of yellow paper, that way it's easy to see if a model is touching any part of the lighted area or not. The scenario takes place at night, which limits visibility to 12". A model can spot any model that is touching any part of a light template, if that model is in its 180 degree forward arc. |

Very nice….. I too notticed the power difference when 2nd ed came out. If you make the right tweaks though, it all comes out well. The cards were a great improvement and made teaching the game easier. Combat was streamlined, but to me, it lost a little. .45 is still an awesome game to play. My only trouble with the game was that I wanted ot run it as a campaign and the price of scenery in 28mm was just killing me… I wound up reusing a lot of my terrain and just rearranging it as best I could to make for a new encounters, etc… It is rated as one of my favorite gemes of all time. I have been a rabid fan scince he released it. For me, the best era to run games was late teens to early 20's…. 1918-1925ish… |
