Siege of Augusta XXIV

The SoA XXIV will be held on January 16-18, 2015 at the Doubletree Hotel in Augusta, Georgia.

This year's theme is:
"The British Army in 1815"
Victory in Europe, Defeat in America
A 200 year Anniversary

Tournament and Event planning is underway.

Last year's SoA was a record and great fun was had. Please consider making the SoA a regular part of your convention plans for next year.

Hello Everyone,

The first webpage update for the SoA XXIV is live. We still have much work to fill in all the details as we move forward. But, you should know that event planning is well underway. Please stay tuned for future updates. In the mean time, you can check out the recent updates at siegeofaugusta.org.

The SoA also announces our new Summer Tournament Series event. This year, we've decided on a tournament not seen so much outside of the big east! This is a game system we enjoy much in this area so it is already off to a good start with at least 8 players so far. We hope we can find some others near or far interested as well.

Open to 16 players
Three 2.5 hour Rounds
Check-in at 9:00 am
1st Round: 10 am – 12:30 pm
2nd Round: 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm

Siege of Augusta XXIV News

Pre-registration is open!

The Siege of Augusta Website has been updated to include all the information you need to register for the convention and book your hotel room.

We are also taking games and building the grid now. If you want to run a game, check out the information in the Event List portion of the webpage or on the pre-registration form.

We have a great line up of tournaments already set including, FoW, Bolt Acton, SAGA, Warrior, DBA, War Machine/Hordes (and other Privateer Press Games), Warhammer Fantasy GT, Jugula, and MTG. We may still add some more.

Siege of Augusta XXIV Website Updated – January 16-18, 2015

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to let you know that the SoA XXIV website just
received a big update.

So, what's new?

Phil Viverito is returning with one of his huge impressive games, this time it's a Dark Age affair using "Hack in the Dark". Arthur's forces battle his enemies, the Saxons, Angles, and Jutes! Will a huge fortress be included? You bet there will be, this time a huge Saxon Shore Fortress will be prominent.

The SoA XXIV will be hosting three seminars by Pete Panzeri. Pete will present his first-hand account & conclusions on the 1991 battle at Ghazlani Iraq. Pete will also share his research into "Killing bin Laden" from an operational planning perspective as well as the raid itself. You will see a number of cool and related miniatures games run by Pete throughout the convention.

We also have a great tournament line up. We might still add a couple, so stay tuned. We have a number of Warmachine/Hordes events, including the Siege Open, a MACE qualifier, Bolt Action, DBA Open and Matched-Pairs, Jugula (Gladiators!), Warrior, Flames of War and a FoW Teen Event, Warhammer Fantasy, SAGA, and a Magic Event on Sunday. Siege of Augusta XXIV – Jan 16-18, 2015 – PEL update

Hi Folks,

We've had a lot of new games coming in since the last post. So, the 2nd Preliminary Events List has just been uploaded to the website. Go check it out. We've got a great line up of games and it's getting better every day! So much so that we had to relocate the Warrior tournament so that we could open up some more game tables in the Grand Ballroom!

We still have some space for you to run your favorite game. But, please get your games in soon.

Tournaments? We've got those in a big way. Siege Buck prizes all around! Please use the contacts on the webpage to sign up.

Don't forget to secure your discount by preregistering today! Are you a Veteran (active or otherwise)? If so, we also invite you to secure your added discount. Man we love you guys and gals who have served our great nation!

Siege of Augusta XXIV – Jan 16-18, 2015 – Key Dates

Hello Folks,

I thought it would be good to alert everyone to a couple of key dates fast approaching.

1. Discounted Hotel Rooms are available only until December 25, 2014. Please secure your reservation now!

2. SoA Pre-registration deadline has been extended to January 6, 2015. We hope you take advantage of the discount.

3. The final event guide will go to print on January 10, 2015. There's still room for some more games. Check out the PEL on the website to see what's still open (sessions and table sizes).

You can find all the information you need to reserve your hotel room, Pre-register for the convention, or submit a game on our website at siegeofaugusta.org.

Siege of Augusta XXIV – Jan 16-18, 2015 – Update

Hi Folks,

I just uploaded a new copy of the PEL. We've added a bunch of new games, information about our special guests and have included layouts of the gaming areas. The game grid is filled in nicely and the tournaments are aplenty! There are still open game spots, especially on Friday Afternoon and Sunday Morning. If you would like to run a game, there's still time. Check out the Website Event List page for details on how to submit a game. Check out the PEL for open spots and available table sizes.

1. The hotel has informed me that discounted rooms are still available until January 3rd. You will need to call the hotel to secure your discounted room as, I'm told, the automated system may not accept the discount code. So, don't delay. If you have issues, I'd recommend you make your reservation anyway and then contact me. I should be able to get your room moved to the SoA block. Please secure your reservation now!

2. SoA Pre-registration deadline has been extended to January 6th. Please make sure any mailed registrations are post marked no later than the 6th.

3. If you plan to enter a tournament, I suggest you refer to the website Tournament Information page. You should follow the instruction there or contact the host using the links on the website or in the PEL.

Get all the information you need to register for the convention, reserve your hotel room, submit a game, sign up for a tournament, or download the latest PEL on our website at siegeofaugusta.org.

Vendor update: Cigar Box Battle will be at SoA this year!

I will be there as Time Portal.
I will reduce the amount of new Osprey to only about 200-250. A lot of Bolt Action rules and supplements. Other rules include Lion Rampant, Beyond the Gates of Antares, SAGA. Others on order but I am not sure they will get in in time.
Terrain by Four-Ground, Plasticraft, and other companies.
Miniatures, 28mm World War Two, odds and ends 15mm ancients, 15mm World War Two, AmRev, 15mm modern.
Plastic 28mm Crusaders and Dark Age.
And other odds and ends items.
Decision folio games, Columbia block games.
