I've finally decided to get on with my AmRev project. I'm aiming for the 1st Battle of Freeman's Farm. After finding the Greg Novak's OoB for Volley and Bayonet and digging through my unpainted figures, it seemed I need to obtain three American Rifle figures, 3 American Light Infantry, and 2 Queen's Loyal Rangers. Can anybody point me to a source of individual figures for these guys that would be reasonably compatible with Foundry/Old Glory? |

Fife and Drum. You buy them loose. Great quality sculpts. Matthew |

True, but you have to buy in packs of six figures. |

I don't have any of the figures that you are looking for in the Fife & Drum range. Perry seems to cover everything that you need in the Saratoga campaign, so I'd recommend going with the Perry figures. |

Oh, I saw "light" and Saratoga and was thinking of the British light infantry you have. It's been a long, long day and my memory is fading. Still, Buy Fife and Drum!!! It does not matter that Jim says he does not have what you are looking for. Because once you look at his range you will understand and realize that you do need what he has. :-) Jim, are you coming to Historicon this year? Matthew |

The Continental light infantry and the Queen's Loyal Rangers can both be done from one pack of Perry Continental infantry – get the guys in coats, rather than hunting shirts. The former were drawn from all the regiments in the Norther Army, whilst the latter didn't have buttonhole lace (unlike the British regulars) and would have been similarly equipped to the Continentals (ie a bit haphazard). |

They call this problem punting in the UK, go ahead and buy the six- you can never have too many soldiers. |

Yes, the Rebel light infantry were not uniformed like Lafayette's lads later on, just whatever their parent regiments were wearing – which in 1777 was pretty much anything. Riflemen would be in hunting shirts with slouch hats, maybe the odd other hat. |
