"Here are some more images of Trumpeter/White Ensign's 1/350 scale U.S.S. Nimitz.
This was a fun model although I wish that Trumpeter would have provided more aircraft. Oh well I've ordered more but they're taking forever to come in…"

That's really impressive. And I've seen the box in the local hobby shop; it's one big beast.

I love seeing the Nimitz every time I pass by the naval station here in Everett, Washington. I do miss when the Abraham Lincoln and her sailors were stationed here…

Tango01,

Nice job! I was Reactor Mechanical Assistant on NIMITZ from 1988-1990 and Main Propulsion Assistant on LINCOLN from 1995-1997.

Given the aircraft and weapons layout of the ship – and the absence of the "Belknap Pole", this looks like the ship was modeled in the mid-70s shortly after she was commissioned. When we deployed in '88 we had F-14s, A-7s, A/EA-6s, S-3s and E-2s. Saw the occasional A-3.

Very nicely done.

Regards,

Scott Chisholm

Not it to build that one…I've done a few 1/800 and 1/700 CVs; this would just be too much!
