Some of you probably know this gentleman, but for everyone else, the Washington Post newspaper just covered his 6mm Waterloo collection of 250,000 figures. Great little personal interest write up.

What an excellent article! Thank you for sharing it with us. I have nothing but admiration for a man who can paint 250 figures a day, even if they are 6mm scale.

That's impressive. I should think the guy has single-handedly been keeping Heroics & Ros in business.

That's a pretty cool article!

I wonder if he uses 60mm x 30mm bases? :)

MichaelCollinsHimself14 Jun 2014 5:59 a.m. PST

yep, that was cool …and fortunately no one asked him about his preferred rule set either !

It does not get any better does it. Except he has no where to use it. I could not even set it up in my back yard.

His painting speed is also extremely fast, even for speed painting without details. It would take me almost two months to paint 250 figures. Even his painting location looks difficult, on the floor in front of the TV.

I thought my collection of 40,000 was big. It's rather humbling. I don't even have the space to store 400,000.

As for basing I think his standard looks to be 80mm x 20 or 30mm. It has to be big just to be able to manage 1 to 1.

Wargames Illustrated did an article on him in their March 2014 issue. I think you can still call up some pictures on their web site.

Steve St. Clair seems like a guy who'd like TMP. Is he on here?

Just awesome… and so are Bruce's game boards.

Unfortunately they're not shown in the story or photos. Recommend to all Googling his name to see some of his work.

I even purchased his rules "1870" to see the various examples.

Cheers!

I wonder if the Frazier museum here in Louisville would be interested

I just stumbled upon this guy's story while researching 6mm painting how to videos on you tube. Anyone know what happened to his collection? Is he still going??
Cheers,

An estimated 200,000 soldiers fought at the Battle of Waterloo, the public spanking that Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington, gave Napoleon Bonaparte on June 18, 1815.

LOL. The journalist didn't get the memo from Hofschroer clearly…

Wow
Scroll down to the end of the article he says he may just paint another 15,000 Prussians who did not make it to the battle

He has 31 terrain tables in his attic!

Yup played against him at Historicon few years back. He cleaned my clock so he is a very savvy player/knowledge of the period tactics, as well as collector- great guy!

Awesome! Glad to hear he's still collecting. Did he find a museum in the end?
