Here's the Perry vignette AW100 -- Interrogation of Captive American Continental Officer.

I'm not sure if I'll ever get it onto the tabletop during a game, but those Perry brothers are some remarkably-talented boys!

The American officer is Alan Perry himself.
The officer talking to Alan is "Eclaireur", author of the "British Grenadier" rules and occasional poster on the AWI board.
The bareheaded officer is DCRBrown, author of "General de Brigade" and a frequenter of the Napoleonic boards.
The scribbling Scot is GiloUK of "Tarleton's Quarter" blog fame.
I am the large German officer.
The fusilier is a friend of Alan's I think – not sure.

The idea behind the vignette is that we four are forever asking the poor man what he's going to make next, and bombarding him with our "wish lists".

What a wonderful story! Would love to see more of such set in a likewise "use-able" setting for either the game table or the display cases we have. Thanks for sharing this Super Max!

It's always a pleasure to see this set, especially when painted so well.

There's a bit about the background to this set on my blog:

Really fun to know that. I'll order this set knowing who they really are modeled after.Thanks.

Whilst researching the 23rd Foot some time ago, I came across a couple of men called Perry, serving in the grenadier company at a time when one of the Grenadier Battalions hanged a couple of men for looting. I suggested Alan make a vignette of some drunken grenadiers, laden down with booty, called "the Plundering Perrys". I might just remind him of that.

Super Max- That would make for a wonderful "Situational" marker on the table! "The unit leaders have lost control of the men and they are currently involved in pillaging! Increase their rally roll by 5!" (Nobody wants to abandon THEIR loot to someone else while they go off to fight!)

Great stuff!

I have had a word, and it may well move from "nice idea" to "likely" once the Bavarians and a couple of other current projects are done.

Supercilius Maximus -- the "Plundering Perrys" sound like an interesting set. I hope it come to fruition -- I'd certainly by at least one set. They'd make great "disordered" markers.

Perhaps include a couple of "despoiled" colonials being deprived of their possessions, or a hungry Hessian running off with the family's pet goose, as in the American Civil War film, "Friendly Persuasion" with Gary Cooper.

The oil painting at this link may provide additional inspiration. Terrific idea!
