Hello,
I would like to read about the other theaters and battles besides the big 4 battles in the WSS. Does anybody have any good reading suggestions? Unfortunatley they do need to be in English as I dont know any other languages.
Thank you
V/R

The wiki page has a number of book references and links particularly wrt the extensive fighting in Spain.

See e.g. 'The First Peninsular War 1702-13'.

There was a similar thread not long ago.

There are a number of books on the war in Spain, one of which is mentioned above. I am at work, so I can't list the others, but I think that they were listed on the recent thread.

I am not aware of very much at all in English on the campaigns in Italy and the upper Rhine. The material that I have found is generally located in biographies and the like. I've read one on Eugene and I also found that Churchill's biography of Marlborough has a surprising amount of information on campaigns not involving marlborough directly, but it is "His life and times".
It would be fantastic if someone was to actually write something decent on the Italian and upper Rhine campaigns, but I am not holding my breath.

AussieAndy,
My apologies I should have done a search.
I agree it would be great if someone were to write something on the Italian and Upper Rhine campaigns, I have searched a lot of places and havent really found anything either.

You could try The Pike and Shot society. Their publications cover the period and certainly some issues of their magazine 'Arquebusier' I have cover the Rhine Theatre

There are a couple of good PDFs to be had from the Desperta ferro! website. I tried to post the link but it wouldn't work

and there's a book called 'God Save Catalonia' edited by Xavier Rubio in Spanish and English, which can be downloaded from academia.edu

As previously mentioned: Winston Churchill's Marlborough; His Life and Times. 2 volume set (1947 two vol hardback set)
Get the two volume set (American printing) which retains all the text, maps and facsimiles of the original 1933-4 four volumes. Used copies can be had for about $150 USD

The book No peace without Spain by Hugill 1991 is a good read.
