It's just a sizzle reel, but looks good so far.

Hopefully it will be worth seeing.

Where are the German tanks?

PKay Inc11 Jun 2014 3:03 a.m. PST

So…how long before the typical string of TMP posts which go something like:

Why is it about the Americans!? The Brits were in the war too!

The Russians won the war, not the Americans.

I'm sure Hollywood will screw it up.

The 2nd tank in the 4th clip had incorrect markings.

Those didn't look like the right planes for this year of the war.

I didn't see any German tanks, but if they had been in the trailer, they probably would have been wrong because Hollywood always gets it wrong.

I like FoW.

I hate FoW.

I can hardly wait for FoW 1918.

What color blue did the Union wear?

I think I'll collect 28mm WW2 so that I'm ready to do skirmish games when the movie comes out.

Who makes 28mm WW2?

Are you crazy? 10mm WW2 is the only way to go.

WW2 is not my period. I have a 5000 figure Chaco War collection.

Who makes bases?

And so on…..

Vosper11 Jun 2014 3:25 a.m. PST

That looked pretty good.

Looks like some people in Hollywood paid attention to what had been done in Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers and The Pacific, when it came time to make a WWII movie.

I visited the set for the village they've constructed along with inspecting the workshops. Seeing the mock Tigers being built was something else – talk about attention to detail! Lot's of shermans etc from vintage collections.

No doubt the "story" will be Hollywood WW2 but I'm looking forward to it none the less.

Look out for the scene where a US infantryman goes round finishing off German wounded – the (supporting) actor actually bayoneted one of his colleagues by accident and hospitalised him!

LOL @ PKay Inc

Looks pretty interesting to me. And another chuckle for PKay's post.

BigNickR11 Jun 2014 7:31 a.m. PST

Pros:
-WWII tank movie
-Not every tank is a Firefly or upgunned/uparmored wet storage Easy-8

Cons:
-Shiat LeBed is in it
-uncomfortable level of crying in trailer for a movie about tanks

On the fence about Brad Pitt, he can be an asset and/or a liability, often at the same time.

McWong7311 Jun 2014 8:06 a.m. PST

Shiat isn't a bad actor, but he's been in some stinkers, and was in that abomination Crystal Skull.

Anyone comment on the interior of the tank? Size about right?

James Wright11 Jun 2014 8:31 a.m. PST

LOL BigNick, could not agree more.

Tanks looked good, especially for 1945 Germany. Hopefully they keep a keen attention to detail. Well, at least as much as one can hope for from Hollywood.

Good points PKay ! evil grin

SBminisguy11 Jun 2014 9:27 a.m. PST

Looks like a must watch for me! I understand a film adaptation of the book "Thunder Run" is in the works, about the US armored attack into Bagdad, slated for release in 2015. Hope they do it justice.

I'll go see it.

BigNickR11 Jun 2014 9:48 a.m. PST

LeBed participated in the desecration of not one, not two, but THREE of my childhood favorite franchises.

He was in everything I hated about the transformers movies, Killed the mood of "Die Hard 4: Die Even Harder…est…er" and the less said about… the "skull" movie… the better.

(As far as I'm concerned they stopped making Indiana Jones stuff after 'crusade.)

Dynaman878911 Jun 2014 10:23 a.m. PST

To be fair, the Die Hard series Died long before 4…

Chrystal Skull – say what you will about it I would watch it 1000 times over before I will watch any more of Temple of Doom (I've seen the opening scene and wlll NOT watch any more).

As for this movie, pretty much a show in for me to see it at the theater, how many WWII movies about tank crews are there?

Pan Marek11 Jun 2014 10:46 a.m. PST

Killjoy was here.

Tiger7311 Jun 2014 10:51 a.m. PST

LOL Pan!

David Manley11 Jun 2014 11:25 a.m. PST

Hmm, looks good.

Rrobbyrobot11 Jun 2014 12:44 p.m. PST

I don't do theaters anymore. But I will keep an eye open for when it gets released on DVD.

Cerdic11 Jun 2014 12:45 p.m. PST

Looks interesting.

I see what you mean about the crying. Wasn't this an era when men didn't cry?
