I decided to play Irregular wars in 20mm due to having a bunch of 1/72nd Conquistador and Aztec minis in search of a game.

I can find (or convert) most everything I need save cannons. Specifically, ships guns brought ashore to add force to the argument of small bands of the colonial European types. Such cannon are featured in a number of force lists for the game and one or two, with generic ship's crew manning the guns would cover a lot of bases. Is there anyone who makes a set of cannon and crew which are not firmly set in "Golden Age of Piracy" look? Looking at Plastic soldier review, I see one from an outfit called LW but, I've had no luck tracking down a retailer, or Ebay seller with one to sell.

Revell did a box of TYW artillery about 20 years ago. The figures would be OK for the early-mid 17th century up until 1640

Long out of production, but worth a search of eBay?

The old Hinchliffe, later Ellerburn, ranges of equipment had a great variety of late medieval and renaissance artillery and gear. It was intended for 25mm figures but the smaller pieces would look OK with 20's, specially if you mount the crew on separate bases and leave the cannon loose.

One of the model ship 'bits' companies used to make models of the composite construction breach loaders like those found in the wreck of the Mary Rose – I have seen both just brass barrels as well as one in plastic of the barrel with its wooden stock carriage. Unfortunately the store had taken them out of their original packaging & re-bagged them, so I have no idea which company made them, but it may be worthwhile checking out the larger generic hobby stores in your area.

Revell is what I use, but the caliber seems a bit large. I have been looking at these instead.

It would be nice if you could get the guns separately. Good luck hunting.

Tumbling Dice made a 20mm ECW range that would work, dont know if they still make them or not.

Thanks for the help, folks. I think that A Call to Arms set will do the trick. I can add a lot of variety with minor conversions and head swaps. Great info. Thank you again for the help.
