I am aware of only one purchaser of wargame collections – GAJO – in Idaho, I believe. Is anyone else aware of others? I live right outside Chicago and have a large collection of painted and unpainted figures as well as books and rule sets, etc., that I would like to sell. Thanks – Hal |

Are you trying to sell everything in one shot? |

Hal, say isn't so, you are not leaving the hobby life :( |

I, unfortunately am in the same boat as Hal. No choices really. Can you spell t-r-a-s-h-c-a-n? |

Ye Olde Toy Soldiers has an eBay store and offers to buy collections. I have purchased books and games in past from him and have had excellent service. Hinds Figures, LTD in the UK also advertises to buy figures and collections. |

Well, we are probably going to put up the house for sale in several weeks. If it sells, we may move to the Richmond, Va. area as that is where our youngest daughter is. Our oldest lives outside of Baltimore and Maryland is much more expensive than Viginia. We live in a large house with a huge basement so I have the entire basement as my "storage" area with a 6' x 21' table which never gets used except to hold boxes. I am not getting out of the hobby. I will be keeping my 28mm and 15mm SYW, 25mm Indian Mutiny, 28mm War of 1812, perhaps one-third of my 20mm ACW, and perhaps my 25mm AWI. What I am planning to sell is my 20mm FPW, 25mm ECW, about 2/3's of the 20mm ACW, 25mm Sudan (small), and lots of unpainted figures for 15mm MAW, AWI; 20mm AWI and Sikh War, 28mm ECW, much of the 25mm French in Mexico has sold already, and I'm sure I've forgotten some periods. Also lots of books and rules for all of the periods listed above. Perhaps some terrain and buildings and my terrain squares on the table and perhaps some tables. If anyone is close to the area and wants to check it out, let me know and we can make an appointment if you are a serious buyer. I am looking for someone close so I don't have to send things through the mail. Been there – done that. Thanks for your suggestions – they are appreciated! Oh, I haven't gamed in about 15 years and haven't painted in a long time. I hope to get back to painting and perhaps a little gaming in Richmond. |

Joe – I would prefer to sell it all in one shot but that is not necessary. I can break it up. |

Sorry to hear you are downsizing. Hopefully your new location will be inspiring and conducive to the hobby. I wonder if it would help you to get the word out to local clubs in your area and game stores. You might be able to organise an "open day" for interested parties. Buyer competition drives sales. I read a book by Robert Cialdini which spoke of how his brother bought a second hand car then resold it next week, no work done, he just arranged potential buyers appointments so they overlapped. People snapped up vehicles when they feared another buyer would have them. Best of luck to you and Allen57. |
