Dear All,
On Saturday to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of D-Day, my local FLGS held a D-Day themed competition across several rulesets. Our contribution was loosely based around the fighting at Authie and Buron between 12th SS and the 3rd Canadian Division.

Sparker: What a beautiful game! Well done! The board is huge. I did not see much infantry on the board. We're you just concentrating on the armour battle? I saw just a few infantry platoons on each side. There were no Panthers at Buron/Authie. They were used the next day (actually night) at Norrey en Bessin. The German attack was done solely by Pz Mk IV's and panzergrenadiers. The Canadians had Stuart Mk V's at Authie and no artillery (not even naval gun-fire) due to radio problems and moving field batteries. Rod Robertson |

Great job, Sparker! I'm glad you came around on Battlegroup and are a fan now. If I remember correctly you were initially not sure about them. I look forward to more incredible boards and AARs from you blokes down in Oz. |

There were no Panthers at Buron/Authie. Correct Rod! As noted in the my Batrep! (Historical note – the HJ's Panthers did not actually take part in this engagement, as they were struggling to make their way North through the disrupted road and rail networks, but I added them to the scenario to give the German team more punch to give them a chance of achieving their objectives in only 8 moves.) And yes, no Indirect arty support for the Canucks either, as per Opord. But many thanks for all the other kind comments Rod, and everyone else! |

Ooops! I must really pay closer attention. Outstanding scenario nonetheless! You have done one of my favourite battles to game. Cheers! Rod Reading-impaired Robertson. |
