Hello gamers & builders.
I've picked up some styrene and ordered some wood bits to start building some small structures, but I'm intrigued by the idea of adding some metal bits to my shacks, shanties, and hovels.
I have a couple of questions.
The tubing I often see at the hobby shop is brass (I think). Is a hacksaw an appropriate tool for cutting such small tubing? Should I be using a very fine blade? What kind of adhesive should I use to attach, say, brass to styrene, or brass to hobby woods (or even hobby woods to styrene. for that matter)?
I haven't really delved too much into the various materials, but from what I've seen, there are also stainless steel, and possibly aluminum extrusions available. Any hints or tips on using these materials? Saw? Glue? Uses of differing materials versus other materials?
I'd like to have some pipes, roof vents and smokestacks adoring my little huts. I'm just not quite sure what materials to use and how to cut and attach them. They sure look interesting, though.
As always, hints, tips, tricks, pointers and the like cheerfully accepted.
Cheers.
