Model Dads delivered their first FoW participation over at The Army Air Museum as part of the 70th Commemoration of D-Day. As Apaches swooped overhead, new players got to grips with challenges of Operation Tonga: link

That looks amazing mate. Good effort. Is that the 4ground bridge and cafe?

JustinModelDads08 Jun 2014 9:56 a.m. PST

No, it's a lasercut cut cardboard bridge from a chap in Germany :)

The Cafe is resin and by the same chap.

Well, he clearly knows what he's doing then!

Thanks TSM,that's about 5 months work right up until the 6th of June. Nothing like a professional amateur!

Awesome stuff! Love the water.

Skarper08 Jun 2014 11:44 p.m. PST

Great job. How is the water made – some kind of plastic sheeting?

JustinModelDads09 Jun 2014 2:31 a.m. PST

Hi all – ironically, the water was the simplest thing to do. I can't claim credit for the idea as I pinched it from the guys over at The Bunker: thebunkergames.com

The canal and river are satin cloth off-cuts over which is florist's polythene, a shiney thin plastic wrap – very affordable and eminently transportable.

The satin and polythene give it a real sheen and if it gets a little rucked up in players enthusiasm so much the better: it looks like waves.

The pond you can just about see is resin.

Great idea. Always had a lot of trouble getting a realistic and practical water representation.
