There are plenty of not-Gorn, not-Vagyr, not-Jedi, and even a few not-Cybermen, not-Klingons, and not-Predators, but I cannot find, no matter how much I search, a good substitute for Kzinti or Kilrathi (with the exception of 3 figures from Dark Sword).
It seems a major gap in existing lines, but no one seems to produce them. Why doesn't someone make a line of 28mm (or 15mm or 6mm etc) feline figures?

Khurasan has them in 15mm.

Splintered light has primitive leonines in 15mm. No guns, though.

Ironwind Metals used to have a few that looked like actual Kzin, with rat-like tails and fan-like ears. It was a nice three pack, a human sized female, and two males much larger, one fully armored with a rifle of some sort, and one stripped to the waist (same armor on the legs) holding a dagger. I know it exists because I have it around somewhere. As part of their Werewolf: Apocalypse range, they had a weretiger with a minigun (which I also have around, probably with the Kzin.) Sadly, neither of these seem to be a aprt of their current catalog.

What about the Rawr in 28mm from Regiment games?

I had forgotten about the 15mm from Khurasan and RAFM, still that leaves the 25-28mm scale without any options.
I Googled Regiment Games but apparently they are out of business.
Punkrabbit, I believe the IWM figures you describe are available still from Darksword link

but withe only one pose in combat armor at $9.99 USD they're not really practical for even skirmish gaming.

Regiment games shut down last year it appears, but I don't know if their sci-fi sculpts were ever sold.

There was a recent kickstarter that had some leonoids in 28mm; I cant remember the name though.

@Optional Field: thank you for the links, I had never seen the original artwork.

Well, there used to be these fine kitties from Regiment Games a few years ago:

Traveller Aslan are cat people. Hard to find now but they were once there. I have about a dozen of them. I can't seem to find any pictures. FWIW, I have originals. A newer set was released that was more up to today's standards.

You can get to pix of the Rar through the Wayback Machine here:

My son, owner of that range, is in the Marines and I have handled the sales. Yes, I shut down temporarily last year, pending my own Army retirement (I am finally on terminal leave now).

Anyway, I still have some Rar (line not sold), although not all poses, as I have had no new castings made in quite some time. Contact me at regimentgames AT yahoo DOT com if you really want some and I can let you know what is still available right now; it may take some time for me to dig them out as this will not be a top priority project for me, but I will reply. Thanks.

I was wondering where those went to when they vanished from the IWM site. They were originally sold as a vignette pack, and are a fairly faithful recreation of a scene from one of the Man-Kzin Wars anthologies. Specifically, it's the story that introduced the word "ch'rowl" to the Kzinti lexicon, as well as unveiling the last of the fully sapient kzin females. Make no mistake, the naked catgirl there is the really dangerous one of those three. :)

Hmmm. The bleep-o-matic doesn't recognize "ch'rowl" apparently. Racy.

ACP is 15mm for ground forces ? I'm guessing, I don't see it on their site ?

khurasanminiatures08 Jun 2014 7:37 a.m. PST

Ben has been puttering on 28mm Felids for me for a while, must remind him about them.

Lion in the Stars08 Jun 2014 10:10 a.m. PST

The Khurasan Felids are great, I have a couple packs (prides?) of them.

I think that the Infinity 'Morats' would make a good cat-critter (with a bit of paint 'conversion'). The older Morats have a large head and a very leonine mane/ruff.

I do remember the Regiment Games figures… I think they were once sold by Mega Miniatures. I have a set of them around here somewhere, but they are really too cartoonish for what I had in mind.
The Hadai look a little too primitive for what I had in mind, and it's hard to tell if they're 28mm or 15mm.
Infiniti does some very nice figures, but for what they cost I'm more than a little afraid that my conversion would go awry, which makes for a rather expensive mistake.
I will keep my eyes peeled for the Khurasan figures though. Their 15mm Felids are very nearly exactly what I'm after.

While we're on the topic of Khurasan, I wouldn't mind a few of the Ursids in 28mm either…

Formerly Regiment Games Fezian08 Jun 2014 7:20 p.m. PST

The Rar were never sold by Mega Miniatures. All RG items except the German Field Kitchen are/were originals.

Covert Walrus23 Nov 2014 1:09 a.m. PST

Did we not go off the 6mm track here? :)

TwinMirror27 Nov 2014 7:34 a.m. PST

optional field started this thread asking primarily about the availabilty (or lack of) 28mm feline humanoids.

I've asked this question on several threads before, too…if we're lucky, maybe some kind manufacturer will read this thread and cast up some at long last.
Jon from Khurasan said on a previous thread that he will be making 28mm Versions of his 15mm Felids, once the sculptor can find the time. So we may get lucky after all.

The Beast Rampant27 Nov 2014 8:26 a.m. PST

Yes, the old Traveller Aslan are now produced by RAFM.
