I know several sources for 28mm Knights of the Templar order. But where can I find figures for their sergeants (mounted and infantry) and other non-Knightly troops? Did they use crossbowmen or some other kind of missile troops? I'm interested in metal figures. Thanks. |

Robert it's time to make the change. FF foot and mounted sgts. are great figures. |

What can I say? I like the feel of metal figures. |

With you all the way on the metals
hate the soft plastic
tolerate the hard plastic. and I HATE the plastic kit concept! |

I love building plastic kits. Send them to me and I'll build 'em cheap (even cheaper if you let me keep the "leftover" bits!) |

Do you have a more specific time period in mind? Templars existed for a while, and armour styles changed a bit during that period. |

Serjants looked like knights, only dressed in brown instead of white. Most would have had complete armor. Other than the Maronites of Lebanon, crossbowmen seemed to be the dominant missile weapon of the crusader states

Great War Ace not true, period colors for sergeants was black, not brown. |

While I sympathize with you Robert concerning plastic figures FF is the only company that I've seen that does a line of Templar and other 12/13 century figures relevant to what you are seeking. So I bit the bullet and ordered the plastic kits and they are decent enough to use and fairly easy to build and right on for appearance. |

Yes – a shame you don't like plastics. Fireforge figures are superb. |
