Hi guys
I hope someone can provide some advice. I'm getting into pre-dreadnought gaming, mainly 1905 Russo-Japanese war and such.
I will be using the WTJ models link
but was wondering which is the best scale to game in?
I intend to play on a 8x5 foot table.
Also, any rules recommendations? I'd like to keep it simple but with some (at least some) period feel.
Cheers

WTJ provides rules on their site, and they are free. Both sets look like relatively brief reads and don't seem to be overly complex.

Also, the rules sections have some scenarios that include intended nautical miles for different scales of ships, and the rules have the length of such miles provided accordingly, which can then provide the size of a table needed to play the scenario.

By the way, these look like some very good ship miniatures that they are selling, and it is very tempting to pick some up and give the rules they provide a try.

Have played the WTJ rules and used their ships as well at our club's game night a few weeks ago. The rules played easily after the first two turns and their new ship models are really nice.

Interesting post, Scott, I was totally unaware of this company and what look to be stunning models…Hmmm…

Hi
I've gone with 1/1800 scale ships.
Plenty of detail but not too large for you game with.
I ordered about 2 Battleships and 5 Armoured Cruisers for both the Russians and Japanese.
