Looks good, hope the bases are not as thick as shown on the mammoth. |

Where is the sabre-tooth squirrel? |
War Monkey | 04 Jun 2014 5:24 p.m. PST |
What!? No sloth named Sid? |
ochoin | 04 Jun 2014 11:53 p.m. PST |
Well, I'm tempted. A game of Mammoth Hunt would be fun. |
Rich Bliss | 05 Jun 2014 5:00 a.m. PST |
A little too cartoony for my tastes. Still, more Prehistoric mammals are always welcome. |

Latest update indicates they may be moving away from the cartoon style. They are definitely moving away from 3D modelling to hand sculpting. |
Ganesha Games | 09 Jun 2014 3:02 a.m. PST |
I confirm that all the mammals will be hand-sculpted. The kickstarter is almost half way to being funded with 17 days to go. |

Latest update from the project creator: "If we hit $4,500 USD this week, we are planning onunlocking minis for Add-ons, and adding to the Base set that everyone gets. Everything helps at this point and we want to share the love." So if you are thinking of pledging on this KickStarter, why not do it now and help unlock these extras for everyone? |
Fergal | 10 Jun 2014 6:45 a.m. PST |
These seem like some solid models that are well done. I think the creators are freaking out a little too much. Stretch goals before it's funded? Moving other stretch goals down to almost the funding level? It's good to be responsive to the backers, but they're starting to look a little too desperate. I really like that lion. |
Ganesha Games | 10 Jun 2014 9:17 a.m. PST |
I like the idea of using these in bronze age/myth base games as legendary giant creatures. I'll be using that lion as the lion of Nemea in OGAM and the dinohyus as a giant boar in Arthurian games, or as the Erymanthian Boar in OGAM. |
Sablefox | 10 Jun 2014 9:31 a.m. PST |
There is no doubt that the creators want the KickStarter to fund, and they want to get people involved not only in these figures but their fantasy universe as well
Is that a bad thing? I think not, as long as the can afford to deliver on their commitments. |
War Monkey | 10 Jun 2014 8:34 p.m. PST |
Tango You must not have kids yet, that's Deago Sid is the Sloth |
Sablefox | 11 Jun 2014 5:11 a.m. PST |
And here is the first free mini (not strictly a stretch goal since it is free to everyone if the project funds).

Guthroth | 11 Jun 2014 5:43 a.m. PST |
I'm getting more interested as it goes along. Doggerland is a private project of mine as well, and a little fantasy never hurts. I just hope they take on board the comments about base sizes. |
Sablefox | 11 Jun 2014 8:15 a.m. PST |
On the subject of bases, this is what they say: "The minis are delivered without bases and most will stand on bare feet. We are looking at providing bases, sans fee, as an extra for our backers. We will manufacturer the bases. They will not be off-the-shelf. Just looking to determine what extra bases the majority would like." |
TwinMirror | 11 Jun 2014 10:51 a.m. PST |
The sculpting style is far too cartoony for me, and won't fit with any of my miniatures, which is a real shame. Could have been good otherwise. |
Sablefox | 11 Jun 2014 3:21 p.m. PST |
I will be interested to see how they will cast the plunge of feathers on top of the Bullockornis
But, overall, the figures are much improved over the original 3D renders. What I really want to see is some more of the eight pack of figures that make up the basic reward. |

Here is the latest preview – as the image text says this is a work in progress – with detailing and hair to come. It does show the general size and shape though.

A preview of the next KickStarter campaign (Sea Monsters) has been released:
Now that would be a seriously large model

I backed this project last night. The miniatures are a bit "cartoony" but that is part of the appeal, IMHO. Even if I paint them to put on display I'd be happy with them. I hope this one gets funded. |
Sablefox | 15 Jun 2014 6:19 a.m. PST |
I think the picture says it all
|
Psyckosama | 15 Jun 2014 9:59 a.m. PST |
Sadly not my scale. I'd love similar figures in 15mm though. |
Guthroth | 17 Jun 2014 12:28 p.m. PST |
Just a week to go now, I hope this makes it |
Fergal | 17 Jun 2014 2:26 p.m. PST |
It'll make it, no problem. |
Guthroth | 18 Jun 2014 10:30 a.m. PST |
