So these have been out for a while now, but I see pretty much nothing on it when I searched the forums. Is it just too simplistic? A kids game? I was wondering if it would be a good ruleset, something fast and fun, to use with 1:100 scale models and do scenarios. |

I have them and found it an enjoyable game. But I couldn't get much interest in the rest of the club! |

Quite liked the rules -- they are fundamentally simple, but there is some nuance in how best to move. It takes a turn or two to get your head around all your best options. Okay, the complaints include "best pilot moves last, so best pilot wins"
and I can see that point. My downfall in this game is that I'm not quick to recognize a plane -- it takes some concentration for me to tell a Spitfire from a Hurricane. I think I'd enjoy it a lot more if the "Enemy Plane Recognition" profiles were more firmly planted in my mind. |

For some reason this never caught on; my brother and I bought about five cases worth of the planes. |

It's actually pretty good. Think of it as a simplified version of Check Your Six and you won't be that far off the mark. Wotc shipped it into the world when they had already decided to exit the minitures business, so it was always a bit stillborn. It plays fast and well, and there's some extra rules by the author on the next if you google for them. It's just not supported. |

The game is basically broken with the rule that whoever wins initiative at the right time wins the game. My gaming buddy has written FLAC which is a derivative of Axis & Allies Air Force. It is a much better game in our opinions. For movement it uses the Bolt Action initiative rules, but for combat it is down to pilot skill. He is waiting for approval on BGG to post the rules there. If you PM me I can send you a copy of the rules. |

Dutchy1241, I'd be interested but I think I have to be a paying member to PM, don't I? |

The miniatures are rubbish. Whoever did the 3D sculpting has very little idea about what the real aircraft look like. Whatever you do, don't look at the undersides of the Hurricane
