Why are those horses wearing such eastern-looking aprons?

Hi Sobieski,
I think the idea that Carthaginians wore lamellar horse armour was started by Peter Connelly many years ago, on the basis that Carthage was founded by Phoenicians and Phoenicians came from Tyre, which was swallowed up by Assyria and then Persia. Absolutely no evidence for it though as far as I can tell. No ethnographic sources show Carthaginian cavalry with horse armour that I'm aware of. I've been doing much research for our upcoming Carthaginian range, and I'm trying to avoid falling in to the trap of ignoring the sources and going with 'accepted myths'!!
