I have asked this over on fighting talk but so far no takers; Hi, we re-fought the battle of killiekrankie the other night, Bonnie Dundee ran right over the top of Mackay, because on page 25 there is a description of "tribal troop types" we assumed that from this section as tribal troops are disordered it would be impossible for them to become disordered, this has led to a few long and now heated conversations. Any clarification would be greatly received and welcome jon |

Highlanders certainly had a formation designed to maximise their strengths and as Duffy notes informed military opinion at the time took the view that ground that impeeded that disadvantaged the Highlanders. Can't comment on the specifics of BTLB though. |

I do play BTLB, though I have only seen tribal horse used in a game. Clearly, the rules say tribal troops do not count as disordered. BTLB does not often give clear directions on these sorts of issues imho, though I have found making a sensible guess gives the right solution when the 'Fighting Talk' forum gurus respond! I suggest they do not count disordered except after a first round of melee. I think this would work well as if the first charge doesn't smash an enemy line, a more even melee would result subsequently. I am not an expert on BTLB though! |

If I was you I would get some other rules, these rules are not very good and poorly researched. |
