Well I will confess clearing out the collection has been kind of liberating. I re-upped my membership and gave the TMP marketplace another go and I am glad I listened to wargamr1 in that regard. Plus because of the sells I have reconnected with some old gaming buddies and made some new acquaintances. The irony has been that while I have culled down some of the collection with the idea of being able to focus more on what I do want to hold onto I ended up picking up two new areas. We war gamers are a hopeless bunch I am beginning to think. Anyway I will be posting some more minis and the like over the coming week as I am now in a grove. At first it was tough letting some things go but now I am finding that it is not so difficult. Oh and what did I end up adding as I was subtracting??? Well I picked up a nice painted collection of NATO vs WARPAC Microarmor. So this does not take up much in the way of room and I have always wanted to explore the What If of WW III and see if I like the Microarmor scale. I think that I will. The other collection was a deal I could not pass up with a large lot of Foundry Plains War figures. I will be picking them up at Historicon from an old gaming buddy I had not seen in a while. What is not to like about Cowboys and Indians? Here is hoping I can maintain my discipline going forward. (fingers crossed) |

Sounds all too familiar. When my wife sees me cleaning up my work space (minis, paints, half-completed terrain) she now asks "What project are you about to start?" |

What I am having trouble with right now is I have a bunch of old Jess Godwin Citadel/GW wood elves and high elves plus some other second generation GW High Elf figures that I am considering putting on the selling block. They have such character but I am not sure when, if ever I will get around to painting these. The other thing holding me back is I sold a portion of my 28 mm HYW collection but I have an entire force designed to be an English army for Warhammer Armies of Chivalry. The only reason I am considering letting these go is that I might want to go a bit further back in terms of my Middle Ages gaming to do more with either the second Crusades or perhaps the wars between Stephen and Matilda. Talk about out with the old and in with the new older. |

These are always tough decisions. I try to tailor my collection to suit our groups collection. We play certain rule sets, which pretty much determine what we play. If I go out in a different direction, I invariably end up selling them off as no one else has figures or it's not being played in our group. |
