I'm thinking of starting a new period and quite fancy the first carlist war.
Ive been an 15mm wargamer for as long as i can remember, but as this will be a totally different period i was thinking of going up a scale.
As Perrys appear to be the only manufacturer (please correct me if im wrong) with a 28mm carlist war range i'm considering these. ( i am aware of Warmodellings 15mm range)
Having never brought Perrys miniatures, i have a pretty fundamental question. How many figures do you get for your standard infantry and cavalry pack?

Look on their website. The pack contents are shown in the catalogue.

Six for infantry, three for cavalry. Artillery is typically one piece and four crew.

For the first Carlist war you'll need a few units compared to napoleonics for example. A few understrength infantry battalions, (very) low numbers of cavalry but lots of character. Good choice. Also you can field liberals with berets if you field txapelgorris, and need few artillery if any. Pictors Studio got the numbers right, but as you can (should) use mountain guns, these come IIRC with 3-4 crew and a pair of mules…

Before you buy too many all at once it may be worth placing a small order to see how you get on with painting 28mm Perry figures. I find them hard going after 18mm.

I have a selection of the Blaze Away/Lancashire Games figs and while I rather like them I do find that they vary a bit in height/bulk. Not too much of a problem really though the range itself is not as extensive as Perry.
You pays yer money and you takes yer choice….
