I hate to complain, but couldn't they have cut down on the accessories? Looks like you have to glue the fingers on as well

Lots of bits, thats for sure. Cons:- takes along time to build. Might require allot of gap filling. Glue on the fingers. Pros :- Choice is a good thing. Options are awesome, lots of conversion ideas already and i'm sure the price in going to be good.
I'll buy a few. I quite enjoy the building part of the hobby. |

I've assembled and painted the command figs from their British AWI box. I did not find them difficult to assemble, and I have 56 year old eyes and fingers. No gaps. Good old modelers cement sets quickly. They look great painted up. |

From the pictures I've seen of the militia and British they look very good ( an excellent painter doesn't hurt ) but like a lot of others all those parts intimidate me. Mark |

It takes me about 3 hours to assemble typical WGF box set with good modeler's glue. (DON"T try with normal super glue!) Basically I pop in a movie that I've already seen, and like, then clip and glue away. It does add to the time required in the overall figure preparation, but also allows you to pose your own figures, which is an excellent trade off, and lets you get exactly what you want for you basing scheme. At this point I actively seek out and prefer plastic kits like this one. Advantages in cost, posing, weight, and ease of tweaking I find greatly outweigh the extra ~5 min per figure that it takes me to get it to the table in the first place. Shan

Combined with a British set, there's a very good selection of heads in the two boxes. |

Taking a look at the sprues, I don't really see that many bits that you need to glue together. For the basic infantryman, you will apparently need: - plastic base - plastic body - right arm with musket - left arm - head (plenty of choices) And then you have a couple of small accessory bits to choose from, if you want to add some more detail. Models on the command sprue look to be about the same, though there is also a drum (in too parts) and a number of swords in scabbards. |

Each model, including base is between 5 and 6 pieces. It takes me less time to assemble and clean than it does to clean and base a comparable metal figure. We had to do the cocked hats in 2-pieces in order to retain the detail and depth but all you have is: Body – 1-piece Head – 1 or 2-pieces depending on what you choose Right arm with musket – 1-piece mostly but there are a couple where the musket had to be molded separately to retain detail Left arm – 1-piece Base – 1-piece Total pieces between 5 and 7. 8 if you want to add an epaulette or tomahawk. |

I must add that those separate epaulettes look like they might be a bit fiddly to glue on. |

There are both separate epaulettes and ones already modeled onto the officer. Personally, I filed off the modeled on versions and added the separate pieces because they look better in my opinion; I had no issues. Oh and LVLAURN, there are no gaps to fill. All pieces fit snugly and flush. Use a polystyrene glue NOT super glue. |

Each model, including base is between 5 and 6 pieces. It takes me less time to assemble and clean than it does to clean and base a comparable metal figure. I would take that bet. Especially against a Fife and Drum figure, which has no flash. And I've already bought 6 boxes of you figures and intend to buy 6 of these.
But a whopper is a whopper. |
