I'm painting some of my Warlord Ancient Roman starter army. The figures with chainmail are straight forward. I am playing around with the figures with segmented armour. This one had silver painted over a black base, was then gloss varnished, then washed with a mix of vallejo dip, inks, future, and water. Then the metal was highlighted.

looks great! nice to see someone uses the same painting system with the square wood blocks as I use, good for mass production painting just watch out for that rabbit, he's dynamite! |

Am not. Bit of an explosive personality maybe, but not dynamite. The armor looks good, I don't use the gloss coat before the wash but mine looks similar. |

Wow, amazing paint work on the rabbit!! The Flowers are really great too? What kind of paint did you use? :) Having just bought some of these figs at the Enfilade Bring and Buy, it's great you posted some pics. You did some highlights on the red and flesh before the washes I see. Nice work. |

The armor is really first rate! I'd suggest the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch for the rabbit. Oh, Brother Maynard!! |

oldbob was kind enough to point me at pictures of his Romans on another forum, for which he used the P3 system armour wash. It gives a sort of "Gladiator" look to the figures
I read somewhere that looking at baby animals makes us calm and focused. So I downloaded a selection of wall papers of such and have them as my background. Now I am posting one per blog post. I think I've gone funny. |
