I was able to find Tierra y Libertad new in the shrink wrap with English rules from a seller on Board Game Geek in 2015. I have really enjoyed it and posted session reports on the game's BGG page. Highly recommended! |

That's Mexican Revolution, your majesty. Pax Porfiriana comes highly rated by experienced board/card gamers. It's a card-based version of the almost equally highly rated 'Lords of the Sierra Madre', by Sierra Madre Games. I have the Spanish language edition of Tierra Y Libertad by Mexico's Vanguardia Games, but as yet haven't found anyone willing to play it! |

Henry, I've played Tierra y Libertad solo a number of times and really enjoyed it. A member of our wargaming group wrote a paper in college a couple of decades ago on the Mexican Revolution and he is interested in playing it too, but we have been swamped in the wargaming corner of our lives in trying to get our two projects on the table, Mexican-American War for me, and Seven Years War for him, but we're going to do a multi-player game of TyL soon, well soonish … If you ever find yourself on this side of the world and happen to roll through South Carolina, let me know and we'll get together for a game or two! I can't see it happening, but thanks for the offer anyway, Jan. I might try TyL solo myself; at the very least I'll have a better understanding of the game and be better prepared to run a social game when I'm swamped with requests :-). |
