Warmaster gets some Crowdfunding love. Not my project, but I'll likely back it: Looks interesting: link
BackstoryIn a nutshell, I'm a Warmaster gamer who's after a Dogs of War army where I don't have to worry about out-of-production models, conversions and size differences between ranges. 10mm Landsknecht fit the bill here, plus they could find a home in an Empire or historical army as well.

The bases are really thick. The 2 man deep basing is unusual as well. Looks like they cannot be separated either. Hmmmm

They are meant to be designed to be snipped apart, though those photos do look like there is cross over of weapons etc. The two deep basing is not uncommon with 10mm figures that are moving forwards, lots of GW WM archers are done this way, and I have Kalllistra figures as well |

Thanks for the publicity VV. @CPBelt, they can be separated from one another (see the pic below at full-size). I went with the two deep to get more variety (and the ability to snip them apart). There was enough people who didn't want them individually, and if I had them done as "in-line" strips I would have only gotten two strip types for the cash I put up for it. The strips themselves are 1.5mm thick. I believe Bob did them that thick for casting reasons.

So the two-deep essentially allows for a good deal more customization? Clever. FWIW: I'm pretty sure if these are based on the Wargame Accessories steel bases: link the will end up being roughly the same thickness as a standard WM plastic base (give or take). EG-> |

Ya, same figure count, but you can arrange them on bases many more ways then had they been in-line. If you clip them apart you'll have even more options. I'm pretty sure Bob used straight green stuff when making the strips they're on. At one point I asked him to take some of the strip at the front of the standard/drummer and move it to the back. Had it been steel I think it would have been more of an issue. |
