Last night the Basement Generals met for another evening of Bolt Action Fun. Several of us are beginning to really enjoy these rules, especially the fast-paced play. A few rules we are left scratching our heads on and need some clarification if anyone can help are the ability or inability of whether or not a unit such as a fire team can be split. If this is possible, does the half w/o out the NCO take on a permanent pin unless a detached officer is withing 6" of the new unit. Also, what is the difference between a rifle and an auto rifle? Thanks and enjoy. jonscurioclashes.blogspot.com |

a unit such as a section cannot be split into different teams. all figures in the unit must remain within 1 inch of each other. The American BAR and the British Bren are examples of automatic rifles. |

In BA, the Bren is an LMG. The BAR is an automatic rifle. |

just read your AAR. v nice table and i like the Fire and fury as well. not quite sure what you meant about the mg and the mortar. they are not part of the same unit, but two seperate units. |

i stand corrected. (always best to obey the law of the gun) |

Having read the other AAR, I think the remark about heavy weapons squads stems from the ambiguous wording about those squads on p.123 of the rulebook. But yoakley is right, each mortar/machine gun team is a separate unit! |

Not sure where I confused with the mortar and MG teams; we were playing these as separate units. |

Good AAR and fun combat photos
keep them coming. All games have "quirky" rules and BA has plenty but our Tues night guys enjoy playing BA. Two of us will be running two BA games at H'con. One a Normandy 44 game with an airborne drop the other is a France 1940 sceanrio. SFC Retired |

Your table is excellent. Good scenery just makes nicely painted minis look even better. I like BA and Chain of Command as they are different ends of the WW2 spectrum in terms of gameplay (and BA allows me to field a few more tanks once in a while :) . Look forward to more. |
