Wow, I must be a millionaire. |

Aww, but it's to pay for medical bills. I wish them all the best and hope they get double that initial price. |

He should break it up into smaller lots, and start with $.99 USD bids. That has always worked better for me than "outrageously" high opening bids. |

Still, it is a complete game system with excellent castings. (Production mold patterns) And the terrain board is very nice. |

If I had the money, I'd do it just because he and his wife are in need. John |

Impressive collection. I've always had a soft spot for the old Custom Cast figures. The bulk of my ACW armies are these old minis. I hope he finds a buyer. |
Long Valley Gamer | 30 May 2014 7:15 p.m. PST |
Hope he sells it. I have close to 3000 finely painted OG 15's and terrain I would sell for far less

Hey Scott I'll split it with you
I'll take the Union and you get the rest |

Have to say the figures and terrain look very "old school" to me
try $2,000 USD rather than $12,000 USD? |

Oh well call me a naive British person but I find it bizarre that anyone should have to resort to selling their possessions to fund basic health care. Just a thought. |

He does have basic health care, either Medicare or Medicaid. I know he has had triple bypass surgery in 2008 and has been fighting a rare heart condition since that time. I'm sure this sale is to fund what is not covered by the government programs. He has sold off "games" like this in the past, table of terrain and both armies that go with it. |

I have a lot of the same minis in my ACW armies. Most of mine were professionally painted by award winning artists. However, I'd never get $4.00 USD a figure on the open market. I agree with 79thPA, much is expected because of the name. I hope he gets his price to help with medical bills. |
Old Contemptibles | 03 Jun 2014 11:54 a.m. PST |
The figures are not painted to that high of standard. I have a lot of these "Empire" figures I painted in my younger days and they are painted better than these and I am not that good a painter. For the money he wants most of it must be for the terrain. The terrain appears to be well done. The terrain, the name and the cause the money is going to is where the pricing comes from. I hope he gets every penny he is asking for. |

I wish him the absolute best of luck in selling his collection. He's a great man and his collections are certainly amazing. That said I find it hard to believe that will ever sell for anywhere near that much money. If so I will be crazy rich. I have over 6000 painted ACW and twice as much terrain. Most I would ever ask for any 15mm figure would be around $2 USD for top of the line stuff. And in bulk that price would drop a lot. I would say on a good day with the name asociation and a desire to help a gamer out the collection he's selling would fetch $5,000 USD tops. |
