Dear All,

We are rapidly approaching the 70th Anniversary of the D-Day landings, that fateful day when the first step to liberate Europe was taken by brave men and women of the free world.

In our small way, we will be marking the anniversary on Saturday 7th June in our FLGS, the Hall of Heroes Campbelltown, with a series of wargames. All tastes, scales and rulesets are being catered for, Flames of War, Bolt Action, CoC, Battle Group Overlord, RF2, etc. At the end of the day we will tally up the total number of Axis and Allied Victories over all the games. The winner of D Day will be the faction which wins the most games.

As the Saturday 7th is actually the anniversary of D-Day +1, my Battle Group Demo team will be debuing with 'Bloody Buron', recollecting the actions of the North Nova Scotia Highlanders and Sherbrooke Fusilers against the 12 SS 'HJ' Panzer Division around Authie and Buron, in 20mm.

Come along and join in the fun to mark this commemoration, if you can't find a game that suits you next Saturday you just ain't trying!

I shall be marking the anniversary by driving down to Bowral and visiting my father who was there at the time.

Royal Engineers, June 6th, 1944, Noon, Love Beach.

Proud of what he did.

Great idea Sparker.

That picture of the tank reminds me – where I live (near to Stone Street in Kent) saw most of the training for the breakout off the beaches because the surrounding area (Elham Valley) is very similar to bocage.

I often hop across the channel for day trips, etc and I'm taking Mrs VCR to France for the day to celebrate our wedding anniversary (wedding anniversary = 4th June…. So we will be going to Normandy this year!)

Still not too sure of the timing for the overall event fellas, but the Battlegroup game should be good to go from 1000.
