We played out the Battle of Bennington (16 August 1777) in 28mm last Saturday afternoon.

-- Our host (Ron) commanded the Queen's Rangers, Canadians, Bunswick Jaegers, and LtCol Breymann's Relief Column.

-- Tom commanded the Prince Ludwig Dragoons, artillery section, British Marksmen, Indian allies, Loyalist militia, and baggage train.

-- Dave M. commanded Colonel Nichol's column attacking from the north and the allied Stockbridge Indians.

-- Carl commanded Col Herrick's column attacking from the west and Col Hobart's column attacking from the south.

-- I had BGen Stark and the New Hampshire militia reserve, attacking from the east.

It was an interesting game, with LtCol Baum holding-off the American militia until LtCol Breymann's Relief Column arrived and deployed.

Col Warner's Additional Continental Regiment and the Vermont Rangers arrived too late to affect the battle, but at least made it onto the table. Had we played another turn, their presence may have proven decisive.

I'd like to extend my appreciation to Admiral Howe, Supercilius Maximus, 47Ronin, and all the other TMP Jedi Knights without whose valuable assistance, this game would not have been possible!

Looks like a couple of old RSM figs in the mix; nice job.

Nice. Especially love the cattle. What rules did you use?

Great looking ,I have been Bennington, and I was surprised how steep the main hill was with the monument on top,I bet the defenders fired high trying to get at those pesky colonials.Good to see this battle played.

We used a home-grown ruleset: "American War of Independence Penny Rules" as developed by out host (Ron).

Firing is determined with D12 dice.

-- At long range (24-36") one D12 per six figures -- hit on a 12.
-- At close range (1-6") one D12 per figure -- hit on a 9, 10, 11, or 12.

The Anglo-Allied forces and Native American figures are from Ron's collection.

The American militia and Continentals are from my collection, and include figures from Perry Miniatures, Wargames Foundry, Old Glory, Front Rank, Garrison Miniatures, Dixon, Westwind, and Ron Wall Miniatures.

Is there a way to obtain the rules and scenario setup?
