I don't know if you have already seem this series of paintings depicting the Battle of White Mountain. They are located at the italian church of Santa Maria della Vittoria, and are available at gettyimages: link They are highly detailled, and could be amazing visual source for the dress of the early TYW armies (interestingly, they show both the catholic and protestant infantry making use of uniform cassocks). |

There is a rather poor diorama model of the battle at the "star" hunting lodge, if you ever have a few extra hours to spare in Prague. Pleasant place to visit, despite lacklustre model, and I take this opportunity for an affectionate memory of the hezky kocka who took me sightseeing there

Much more uniformity than I would expect |

Very interesting, especially the cassocks. Few figs available have those. |

Aparently, the paintings were really made shortly after the battle: link (link in italian) The question is if they were really painted by Snayers, as mentioned on gettyimages. So far, I couldn't find anything linking the painter to Santa Maria church. |
