My first unit of British infantry. Black Tree Designs – great miniatures that I have never painted before. No idea what their other ranges are like but the Zulu War stuff is just fantastic in my opinion.

More over at the Woolshed.

beautiful stuff. Reminds me of the first ever war-games book I ever got. I was around 10 years old and I bought this small hard back with several photos in it. The one photo that charmed me the most was a British vs Zulus one. Amazingly I never did play the era. Love the way you did the stands BTW

Very nice Brian. One of the nicest BTD ranges for mine.

Agree Brian very nice and affordable figures these are from BTD ( although carrying my Zulus army for the range 200+ can stretch the ares out of your sockets ;) still think BTD are decent stuff IMO.

The BTD ZUlU War British have always been my favorites. Good job.
What brand are your Natal Native Contingent?

Brian Smaller29 May 2014 3:47 a.m. PST

They are BTD as well. I really enjoyed painting them.

Thanks Brian, I see there are on the BTD site under the British packs. I will have to get some of those. Can use some Boer figures are thier commanders I think.

That is what I did. I have 30 Boer riflemen so used a couple in my NNC unit.

Nice work. Who makes the bases?

Brian Smaller29 May 2014 3:06 p.m. PST

I got them from a Kiwi supplier called Dopey Dog, but you can get them from Warbases as well. The Warbase ones come complete, but the ones I got were just the cut out top part and I glued on 0.85mm magnetic sheet underneath.
