Just wondering if anyone does the Wild West in 6mm (not including the Indian Wars). If so, what figures, rules and buildings are you using? Do gunfights work well in 6mm? |

Skirmish in 6mm works just fine, at least for SciFi and WW2. I use the same rules for 6mm with no changes as I do for 15mm. I don't know anyone who does 6mm Old West. |

I use some of the Irregular figures plus some baccus figures from different periods re-tasked. In particular the colonial line has a few that work as a few of the ACW ones. Look at the skirmish packs. From Irregular – check out the Posh Cowboys and indians. My town is mainly "White Wash City" scaled down appropriately. Here they are below. Early Work:
Town Flocked and nearly complete: link And the figures with paint: link Note: The town is on 12" floor tiles to give you scale.

Thank you, It was a joy to build and storage is a snap. Unfortunately, I'm needing more variety and am now starting over in 15mm, that's not saying this won't get used, just not as much anymore. I can transport this anywhere for easy pick-up games, the problem is in recognizing characters at normal distances without adding large bases. Skipper |

Skipper, Your stuff is what inspired me to give this a try.If you are going over to 15mm does that mean your 6mm adventure has failed? Say it ain't so!! Also, for your buildings, how did you get the whitewash city building reduced to 6mm? |

Not completely. My primary scale is 6mm. It works great for mass battles, Skirmish games like Vietnam, Modern, WWII, and Sci-fi. The issue with Western is the lack of variety in figures. i really like my current ones, but would like a little more variety. Also, they require tweezers or forceps to move between the buildings. Fingers are just too big. We used the 6mm for a number of games including a Deadlands set of adventures set in Kalispel, MT. Its been dormant a while as we are currently into other games at the moment. A large portion of my open field terrain is also set at 6mm too, so I have no plans to abandon it, just also branching into 15mm too. I've picked up 15mm mainly because I started zombies (ATZ) using Rebel zombies and build a modern town for them. I also found that fantasy skirmish is also more varied in 15mm than 6mm. So at this time I am running two scales 6mm and 15mm. When actually also 10mm as we are playing Dropzone Commander. I would love to find a good sorce for 6mm Mexicans (Sombrero wearing Peasants and Banditos for a 6mm version of "The Magnificent Seven" I have the paper models ready to build a villa with adobe buildings either as its own or to become a quarter of the much larger town. The 12" floor tiles are designed to be modular to change orientation and variety. I've also got a ranch tile planned, a rail head with stock yard and tent city, and the residential quarter. So no, its not done yet, just in temporary hiatus. Skipper |

One source for 6mm alternatives might be the H&R figures. When I have a chance I plan to pick a few up to see how they work. Adler might also have some that will work though they are slightly larger, but acceptable. Skipper |

That looks fun, nice work Skipper. Always thought about doing a Plains War range, Little Big Horn in 6mm would look brill Id have thought. Given the work involved wouldn't even pay for itself I imagine. L |

Skipper First what rules are you using for your 6mm? Second Is there any 6mm Texas Rev, Mexican War or Spanish American War Cubans? If so they may have the Sombreros you are looking for. |

I'll check on the suggestions. I usually use Six Gun Sound from THW, or TRWNN from Foundry. We also use Savage Worlds from Pinacle. Skipper |
