I want to start using my AP Quickshades, but don't want to be continually opening and closing the tins. I also don't have an immediate need for such large quantities, so would prefer to transfer sufficient stain for the job-in-hand to smaller containers. Does anyone know if this product can be safely stored in plastic? I have a number of empty pill bottles that are of the ideal size for the purpose. |

Drop a bit of the shade onto the base of the pill bottle and wait. I would look at Testors glass jars, being glass no problem with adverse reactions and you can see exactly what shade is in the jar. The replacement jars (the same size as their paint jars) are usually found with their airbrush products I think they come in a 4 or 5 pack with a couple of pipettes for transfer. Local hobby shop should have them and of course online. I see that your in oz, Toys R Us have the Testors jars. |

Baby food jars would work well too. Last time I looked they could be found for very cheap, just rinse them very well before using. I've used them to store custom mixes of One Shot enamel, so quick shade should be no problem. |

Mini jam jars, the sort you get when you order jam (jelly?) in a cafe. |

What you need to source is someone who makes HDPE Plastic bottles and containers Henry. They are used for solvents and chemicals. In the uk I buy from here link I'm sure you'll find a similar one in Aus. |

Thanks for the responses, comrades. Jam, for the moment, remains jam here in Oz, Norm; at least to those of us who refuse to cave in to linguistic imperialism. But given that the mindless minions of our 'globalised' food industry and mass media have apparently decided that biscuits are now 'cookies', I suppose it's only a matter of time
dude. |
