Should I go see X-men DoFP or Godzilla? X-men any good?

Xmen was pretty good.

Both were cool.

Enjoyed both actually….

If I had to choose, X-men.

Both are recommended. If you feel like a mindless creature feature, go see 'Godzilla.' If you're in the mood for a well plotted character-driven drama set mostly in the 1970's when Tricky Dick was president, then DOFP is what the doctor ordered. You can read about my non-spoiler reviews of both here:

Both movies are good. Very good. Well worth your entertainment dollar.

Godzilla is check your brain at the door and enjoy the ride type.

X-men is a little more Cerebro(wink) and they tend to get a little preachy, but still fun.

As a Godzilla fan, I suggest (nay, demand!) that you skip the new movie. Take the money you saved, go to wal mart. There you will find all the modern ('90s/00's) Japanese Godzilla films on DVD and blue ray for cheap. Most folks have not seen the newer Godzilla stuff and it is great.

As someone utterly indifferent to the Xmen, I can only pass along my girlfriend's opinion, as she loves the Xmen movies. One word review… meh. Said it lacked the energy of the last installment, and that some of the bigger stars looked to be in "thanks for the check sucker" mode.

But all sarcasm and jokes aside, differen stroke and all that. If they look fun, go see 'em. Going to the movies is great, and technology seems to be pulling people out of the theatre and keeping them on the sofa. Vote with your presence (and cash) and keep the film going experience alive! (Hops down off soapbox)

I agree with mister droid regarding Godzilla; it was okay for the ten minutes Godzilla was actually IN it, but the rest was just BORING. X-Men however, loved that! Given the choice though I just watched yesterday Edge of Tomorrow and REALLY enjoyed that. Well worth a shot.
