Tom, Interesting question. Not much was written in English about those wars. The best I can recommend is to look at DBR army list and use it as a rough guide. Let me know if you are not familiar with DBR and I will see what I can do. |

And for those of us who don't know, what is the Long War? I assume it includes Vladimir Tchepes (sp?). |

I believe he is referring to the war that broke out between the Ottomans and the Hapsburgs at the end of the 16th century. IIRC Wallachia was under Michael the Brave at the start of the war. |

Nope, it is the "Langer Türkenkrieg" (Long Turkish War) 1593-1606, also known as the 13 Years War. Some historians regard 1591 as the start year and it becomes the 15 Years War. link link It is not a period that has been well covered in English, the articles and academic works that exist are not well known and have seen little or no use by wargamers or wargames designers. It is Hungarian historians who seem to have written the most recent studies which makes the best information hard to reach due to language barrier and the rarity of the works in question. Who ever wrote the DBR list had very limited access to accurate information about the Transylvanian army, I suspect the same applies to the Wallachians. The army list have little or no resemblance to the armies actually fielded during the war. |

I would be very wary of using either DBR or FOG-R lists when the subject is not well covered in English. I know that the Portuguese Colonial lists are not accurate at all, though to be fair there are very few sources not in Portuguese. |

@MihaiViteazul You are welcome! But Puster and specially Daniel are the ones we should be thankful for. Their knowlegde and desire to help is amazing for those interested in the Renaissance Military like us :D And about the email, can you upload and share the files by Google Drive? If not, I'll look for another option. All the best, Mihai! |
