Nice picture! These are ex-Australian rebuilds of ex-USN birds. The Australian rebuild failed in terms of objectives and blew out financially and the aircraft were put into storage. I wonder if the Kiwis kept the combat electronics suite that was the main reason behind their failure in Australia.

According to Wiki, the NZ Super Seasprites have a different avionics fit. I'm assuming that these will have the same avionics fit as the 'old' Super Seasprites (which are probably also newer airframes than these ex-Aussie birds!) |
